Oliver is a company founder and heads Operations. He is a USCG Licensed Captain who grew up on Long Island Sound, embracing and loving everything about this estuary. Aside from his vast knowledge of LIS, he has voyaged too often to count to Block Island, Newport, Cape Cod, Nantucket, Martha’s Vineyard, The Hamptons, and on down to Florida both via the intracoastal waterway and the open ocean. He is familiar w/ The Chesapeake Bay & most other bays & inlets along the eastern sea board, as well as The Bahamas & Caribbean. Oliver also has mastered the challenges of the inland waterways with canal and lock systems through travels that have taken him up the Hudson to The the Lakes. One of his favorite undertakings is refit management, a passion which goes back to the very first boat he purchased at 13 and refit on his own. That 15’ foot runabout ultimately lead to the Ambrosia project, a hugely rewarding undertaking in 2011. Known for his patience and easy teaching method, Oliver is sought after for his marine related instructional skills. A pure and simple passion for boating and the sea drives Oliver and is the anchor of his yachting know-how.

Chris Reid

Partner, Captain

Growing up near the water in Connecticut, Chris started out working at yacht clubs 17 years ago where he discovered his passion for the sea.  He worked his way up the ladder as a deckhand, mate and Captain, on a variety of vessels from private sailing yachts to tugboats.  After shipping out for the last few years sailing offshore in the energy sector, Chris has decided to bring his career a little closer to home.  Having put in the miles and earning a USCG 1600 Gross Ton License, among a handful of other endorsements, Chris brings a very diversified background to Venture Yachting.  He is a very able and confident seaman, capable of navigating a vessel safely through all seas. His passion for boats and being on the water is evident in his enthusiasm and willingness to share his knowledge with others.

He has has spent countless hours cruising LIS and delivering vessels up and down the eastern Atlantic coastline and clearly enjoys sharing his experience. Art’s knowledge is not just limited to power boats he is also an extremely experienced sailor, which makes him our go to sail boat captain.
